In Memoriam-Olga Denison

Olga Denison a long time CMU friend and supporter left us on November 16th 2006. She was born in 1917 in West Virginia, but moved to Mt.Pleasant, MI when she was 12. She graduated from Central in 1940. Olga was deeply involved with CMU, the city of Mt.Pleasant, Art Reach and the Saginaw Chippewas Indian tribe. For 35 years Mrs. Denison collected works of the highest quality that were produced by Chippewa, Ottawa and Pottawatomi artisans. Some of the pieces she has collected will be displayed during "Twentieth Century Anishinabe Art: The Olga Denison Collection," exhibition, going on through Nov. 27 at CMU's University Art Gallery.
Mrs.Denison was a great supporter of the CMU football team and rarely missed a game no matter how cold the weather was. Mrs.Denison and her husband Rollie established a scholarship fund with the CMU Business school and helped a lot of students, including myself, to complete our education. She has also donated to TCW, when we desperately needed funds to keep the community going. She will be missed dearly!
